L&D Matter is a 100% student-run volunteer organization that assists children with learning and intellectual disabilities through the buddy program and advocates for their needs and educates the community about what it means to have a disability through our Ambassador Program. The purpose of the Buddy Program is to mentor students with cognitive disabilities such as Down syndrome and Autism with their academics and assist with developing social skills. The mentors are students from the Illinois and Mathematics and Science Academy who are passionate about improving the quality of life for their peers with disabilities.
