This training is an overview of IDEA (Individual with Disabilities Education Act), which is the law that protects the rights of children receiving special education services. Aspects covered include the evaluation process, the Individualized Education Program (IEP), the Least Restrictive Environment
(LRE), procedural safeguards.

Navigating the IEP Process REGISTER

This training covers information on the rules and regulations related to creating the Individualized Education Program (IEP) for your child, and the importance of parental involvement throughout the process.

Transition to Post Secondary Education  REGISTER
Saturday, September 24, 2016 at 10:30AM-12:30PM
This training discusses issues relating to transitioning from school to adult life/post-secondary education, identifying outcomes and developing goals as part of the IEP process. Parents and young adults will become knowledgeable of resources in their community in order to build linkages, and ensure a dignified life as a contributing citizen.
