Easter Seals Metropolitan Chicago’s first annual Camp FRIENDship! Camp FRIENDship is a summer camp designed to help children with developmental disabilities acquire social skills within a positive, safe, and fun learning environment. Campers will receive social skills training from staff members highly trained and well educated in helping individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders. Peer Models will be integrated into the camp format to encourage campers with and without ASD to interact throughout the day.
Camp FRIENDship will take place for one week, June 22nd through June 26th, 2015 from 9:00am to 3:00pm at our Chicago Therapeutic School location. Campers will be ages 5 to 14 and will have a diagnosed developmental disability, be a typically developing peer model, or be a sibling of a camper with a developmental disability.
